After more than 25 years in the policing arena, I experienced firsthand the toll that years of shift work, chronic stress and constantly putting others first can take on your health. When my own body reached breaking point, I was repeatedly told everything was normal, but I knew there had to be more to the story.

That experience led me back to university to become the practitioner I wish I'd had. Today, I help current and former police officers, emergency service personnel, defence members uncover what is actually going on underneath their symptoms, so they can rebuild their health with a personalised, evidence-informed approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to start the program?

No referral is required. You can book a Recovery Assessment call directly to discuss your history and confirm that the program is the right fit before committing.

Is this program confidential? Will anything be reported to my employer?

Yes, the program is confidential. This is a private clinical service between you and Lauren. Nothing shared with your employer, department or anyone else without your written consent (or in exceptional circumstances as required by law).

Are consultations available online?

Yes, the program is designed to be delivered online and consultations are delivered via Telehealth. You can join from anywhere in Australia as long as you have a reliable internet connection.

What’s the difference between Protect, Recover, Rebuild?

These terms are used to describe where you feel you are on your journey. They are not different programs and your treatment plans and recommendations are always tailored to you and where you are at.

How long does the full program take?

The program runs for approximately 6 months, from your Initial Deep Dive consultation through to your Transformation Review, with monthly check-ins to adjust your plan as you progress.

Can I use Medicare or Private Health Insurance?

Pathology testing can often be arranged as a hybrid of GP/Medicare-referred testing plus private testing (extra cost) if they are necessary. You can elect to have these tests done privately but the cost will be additional to the price of the program. Check with your private health insurers to see if your policy include rebates for nutritional consultations.

What if I’ve already tried other treatment with limited success?

That can happen and it is usually because the underlying biology, pathology interpreted through optimal ranges, mineral status and genetics, were never tested. This program is not a generic protocol - your treatment plan is built around what is actually happening in your body.

Do I need to have symptoms of burnout to join the program?

Not al all. You can join in the “Protect” phase to stay ahead of burnout while they are still operational, rather than waiting until their health forces a decision. It is often quicker and easier to avoid complete burnout than recover once you are there.

I am on some medications, can I still do the program?

Yes. Many clients join the programme while taking prescription medications.

The Beyond the Badge Method™ is designed to complement—not replace—the care you receive from your GP or other healthcare providers. Your personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan will be tailored to your medical history, current medications and health goals, and any changes to prescribed medication should always be discussed with your treating doctor.

Our focus is on supporting your body's recovery, addressing the underlying contributors to burnout, and helping you achieve the best possible health alongside your existing medical care.

Why do you suggest getting blood pathology and Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) done?

Blood pathology provides valuable information about your current health, while Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) offers additional insights into mineral balance, stress patterns and metabolic function that standard blood tests may not reveal. Together, they help us build a clearer picture of how chronic operational stress has affected your body and allow your recovery plan to be tailored specifically to your needs.

Why would it be useful to get Nutrigenomic testing done?

Nutrigenomic testing can provide valuable insights into areas such as methylation, detoxification, inflammation, neurotransmitter production and nutrient requirements. This allows your nutrition and lifestyle recommendations to be further personalised based on your unique genetic blueprint.

While Nutrigenomic testing isn't essential for everyone, it can be a valuable addition for people wanting a deeper understanding of their health or those with more complex or persistent health concerns.

What if I want or need more help after the program?

The program is designed to give you the knowledge, tools and personalised plan to confidently manage your health long after the initial six-month program. However, health isn't something you achieve once and never think about again. Just as operational skills, fitness and equipment require regular maintenance, so does your health.

Many clients choose to continue with a personalised maintenance program, which includes less regular consultations, repeat pathology and HTMA testing and ongoing refinements to their nutrition and lifestyle plan. These reviews allow us to monitor your progress, identify changes early and make adjustments before small issues become bigger problems.

Others may choose additional support to explore areas such as genetics (if they did not do this in the initial program), more complex health concerns or continued coaching as their goals evolve.

My aim isn't to make you dependent on ongoing care - it's to give you the confidence to manage your health while knowing you have expert support available whenever you need it.‍ ‍
